Andrea Brazier

Hi, I’m Andrea (she/her)! I currently reside on Algonquin and Anishinaabe territory.

I am a Masters of Environmental Studies Candidate at York University, studying the intersections of Indigenous and Environmental Justice with a focus on water security, governance and policy.

My formative years were spent in Aotearoa, New Zealand, where I grew up with a profound respect for water, the environment, and Māori culture. These early life experiences continue to influence my worldview, and have guided me to a career in environmental communications and education.

I am currently researching the implications of Canada’s newly implemented Bill C-15, and the ways in which the United Nations Declaration on the Rights on Indigenous Peoples can be used as a tool for Indigenous water protection in Canada.

In my personal time, I can be found enjoying nature, hiking, spending time with my cat, gardening/taking care of my many house plants, or reading a good book.

I look forward to connecting with you!
